Introducing new program associate Riley Brigham
Hello! My name is Riley, and I am a new Program Associate at Exponential Education. Originally from Connecticut, I went to college at Davidson College in North Carolina and majored in Anthropology. After studying abroad in Nepal and Tanzania during college, I moved to Botswana following graduation. As part of the Princeton in Africa Fellowship Program I taught at a secondary school in the capital city of Gaborone. As well as teaching Math and Geography classes, I ran service programs, coached, and assisted in the boarding house. I was constantly learning from both my students and colleagues, and I loved working at a school. I was able to see the impact and importance of education first hand.
This is not only my first time in Ghana, but also in West Africa. Having just arrived a few weeks ago, I beginning to adjust to life in Kumasi and learn my way around. I look forward to continuing to explore the city and the surrounding areas. I was drawn to Exponential Education because of the concept of a community based peer-to-peer tutoring program, and I am so excited that I have an opportunity to join the team. I can’t wait to get my programs off the ground, and get to know my students and tutors. I am particularly excited to see my tutors develop into their new roles.
